It feels like I haven't painted in forever. Or uploaded anything here for that matter.
So I've had this idea in my mind for awhile, it's nice to get it out on paper. What this painting represents to me is fear. Not the horror movie startled kindof fear, but the more everyday worries and insecurity fear.
Most days are happy, but sometimes doubt will set in, and where there is doubt fear is soon to follow. Not feeling good enough= fear of failing.
I did a portrait of myself in the background an showed my shadow rising up and taking a life of it's own. Because that's what fear does to you, it just take hold. I made the 'creature' semi-transparent because doubt and fear are not actual things, they are all in our heads, yet it can seem so real.

That's pretty cool. I like how the light background kinda shows that the fear isn't "horror movie startled" fear, but just what you said it was: everyday worries and insecurity fear.
